100% Hatch On First Use
"Long time chicken owner, but a complete rookie when it comes to incubating, after some research (actually, a lot of research) I settled on this Borotto 49. Probably a bigger capacity then needed initially but I figured the resale value was better on this model then the smaller one if I decided incubating wasn’t for me. I spent months prior to this purchase watching YouTube on candling and maintaining temperature and humidity levels using hygrometers and the like. When the Real48 arrived, I felt daunted. What had I committed to? Was I going to be able to navigate a successful hatch with 4 little kids at home? I bit the bullet and purchased two dozen mixed eggs, not perfect quality eggs either but they were my practice run. I followed the instructions to the letter, no extra monitoring temperature or humidity, I put my trust in the machine. On day 10 I discarded 6 eggs that were not fertilised. On day 20, pipping begun, by the end of day 21, I had 18 chicks. I didn’t lift the lid at all during lockdown. We watched chicks hatch fast and chicks hatch slow (oh so slow) but we never intervened. After 48hrs, we moved them all to a brooder and so far, they all seem very healthy. A 100% hatch on a first attempt, well, I literally can’t ask for better then that. Thanks to Johnny and the team at Brookfield Poultry. One very satisfied customer."
