      FAQ

How Long Do Eggs Stay In An Incubator?
Fertile eggs should be incubated within a week after they are laid. Incubation time is 21 days on an average. Quail eggs, in particular, take around 18 to 20 days before they hatch, with lockdown sometime around day 15 or 16.
How Many Times Do You Turn An Egg In An Incubator?
Eggs should be turned at least thrice a day at regular intervals, although more often is ideal, especially for certain species such as parrots and birds of prey. Remember to stop turning the eggs three days before they are due to hatch, a point called lockdown.
What Is The Temperature Of An Incubator?
Different types of eggs have different temperature and humidity needs, and thus take different lengths of time to hatch. On average, the temperature needs to be around 37.5ºC in a forced-air incubator, while 38 - 39ºC if in a still-air incubator.
What Happens If The Humidity Is Too High In An Incubator?
Humidity levels need to be consistently at 50-60% until lockdown, at which time it should be raised to 65-70%. If humidity is too high, the chicks will not dry out properly after hatching and may drown. High humidity also makes the air space smaller and the chick larger, affecting its respiration.
